The Wivenhoe Green Party is a branch of the Colchester and District Green Party. Its aim is to make progress towards a fair and sustainable society by campaigning on issues that are of interest to people living and working in Wivenhoe, and by having candidates elected to Colchester Borough Council and Essex County Council.
The Green Party is pleased to be able to announce that Colchester Borough Council has adopted the Wivenhoe Town Plan as an official planning policy guidance note.
CBC have published the Wivenhoe Conservation Area Appraisal with a view to adopting it. The Green Party supports policies which will help to maintain the distinctive character of Wivenhoe, including this proposed extension to the Wivenhoe Conservation Area.

The new Local Development Framework (LDF) Core Strategy is an over-arching planning policy for Colchester Borough. It has now been through all stages of public consultation (including Public Examination) and the final version has been produced. The next steps are for subsidiary policies be developed and adopted covering more specific issues such as Development Policies and Site Allocations which will go through the same stages of public consultation.
In Town, Without My Car! is an established event whereby on the 22nd of September each year, town centre streets across Europe close to traffic, and open up solely for people to enjoy walking, cycling, street theatre, live music, dancing, public art and children's play areas.
It is a year since the new management plan for the Old Cemetery was adopted by Wivenhoe Town Council. This plan was developed by Cllr Fox with help from fellow councillors, and following the advice from the Diocean Advisory Committee and others.
